the charm of the past with handicrafts and antiques in the
flea market of Piazza de’ Ciompi through Via dei Martiri
del Popolo, Borgo Allegri and Via Buonarroti. Let the last
Sunday of every month add to your bounty with countless
stalls in all the adjacent streets.
Pick
up an original souvenir from gorgeous Italy and take the
route to Via Pietrapiana, where the talented artist and
sculptor Ghiberti lived. Stop at the Loggia del Pesce (Loggia
for the fisher folk) with small round terracotta plaques
that display images of fish, in a simple linear structure
with 18 Doric columns designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1565.
