Via del Fico from Via da Verrazzano to Via delle Pinzochere,
and see houses painted a bright cheerful yellow. Experience
the effect of an Impressionist painting while the sun pours
in at artistic angles.
Look
at the ironies of life displayed at each corner of Via del
Fico. See the tabernacle placed on the door of No. 8, Via
delle Pinzochere to protect passers-by. At the other end
of Via da Verrazzano an inscription dated 22nd January 1714
warns sternly against prostitution, the oldest profession
in the world!
