Even
a whisper echoes on the quiet Via delle Pinzochere which
starts from Santa Croce to Via Ghibellina. The walled-in
Gate of Pinzochere on the north side of the church was so
named as the gray-robed tertiaries walked this road to clean
the church.
A
tabernacle with Madonna graces the wall of the first house
on the street and as you turn left, a 16th century historic
building greets your eyes designed for the Da Cepparello
noble family by Guiliano da Sangallo.
Sit
on the stone bench which runs around the building and take
a breather. As you walk across to Via del Fico, you can
see a gracious tabernacle on door No. 8, ensconced between
two small windows.
